Word Power
Words are powerful. With them you can liberate prisoners or vanquish foes. Worlds are conquered or lost through the power of words. Taking a reader to the heights of ecstasy or the depths of despair are both done courtesy of words. Use them with the knowledge of that power and use them wisely.
Weak words will dilute and diminish your writing. Strong ones will give your work the compelling punch essential to successful writing.
Saw, sat, and looked are not very powerful words. They do not stir any type of reaction or emotion. Words like shudder, enflame, aroused, and hot are example of strong ones. These produce mind-engaging and emotion-inducing activity. The kind of effects that you want to achieve in your writing will affect the choice of what words to use.
The effective use of power words will mark you as a strong writer and put your writing on another level.
Unleash your power....
