Romantic Stories

Ah, love! Nothing stirs the heart of a writer more than love…not this writer's, anyway.
This page is dedicated to the many beautiful aspects of love.
The most wonderful thing about love is the fact that its gestures needn’t be big to make a large impact in our hearts and our lives. In fact, in my humble estimation, it is precisely the little things about love that speaks the loudest about both the giver and the receiver of that love.
So, sit back, enjoy the romance, and think about—and send in!—your own stories of love.
Come on...don't be shy! Let's celebrate our loved ones while they are still here.

This week’s romantic moments contribution comes from Vicky, who has an absolutely wonderful man in her life.
You’ll pardon me while I go over to my fainting couch to swoon.

I had had a really awful day at work and had to work late to boot. I called my S/O on my way home and vented and he told me not to worry. When I got home, he had a buffet of Chinese take-out laid out in the kitchen, and upstairs, he had a tub of hot bubbly water surrounded by candles and my fave romance novel on the side. For the rest of the night, he would poke his head into the bathroom and ask if I were ok or if I needed anything and when I said no or just sighed, he would say, "My work here is done," kiss me and leave quietly. God, I love that man!

If I weren’t so in love with my own husband, Vicky, I might have had to flip you for your guy! Wanna hear something sweet about my guy? Okay….here goes!:

I had to work about 30 miles away from home one evening. It was a rough day at work. I was feeling pretty tired and a bit low at the time.
It was dark when I left the building and got into my car. A glare of light on the passenger side caught my eye. There, on the seat, was a big bag of my favorite potato chips (which I’d been having a craving for all week) and a card propped up against it. On the front of the card was a picture of an adorable puppy with cute, pleading eyes. The words inside said, "If I were a dog, I’d follow you home and ask you to keep me."
I promptly melted and swooned all the way home.

There’s lots more where that came from…I’ll give you some next week!

Now, what’s your story?
