Questions, Questions
Writers are questioners. Questioners are writers. Writers ask questions. What kind of questions do they ask, you ask? (Of course you asked, because writers are questioners. I just told ya that.LOL)
Writers question their abilities. Do I have what it takes to be a writer?
Writers question their sanity. Have I lost my mind, actually thinking that I can write something good?
Writers question their right to write. What makes me think that I can write in the first place?
Writers question their potential failures. What if I don’t succeed?
Writers question their successes. What if this is a fluke and how long will it last?
Writers question their acceptance. What if nobody likes what I write?
The list of questions that we writers ask is endless.
Since we writers love questions, I thought that this would be a great opportunity to take a quiz. Why, you ask? (Of course you asked. Writers are questioners. I just told you that.*grin*)
Are you ready? (I did tell you that writers love questions, didn’t I?) Here goes:

| Will I always question my abilities? | Of course, but that’s okay. It’s all a part of growth. Yep, but all the great artists and creators of the world do, too, so I’m in good company. That’s an affirmative, but simply means that my creative juices are flowing. |
| Will I experience disappointments? | Sure, but that’s why chocolate, hankies, and hugs were invented. Most definitely, but along with the disappointments are built-in opportunities for growth and experience. Yes, and in the end, that is good because it means that I am stretching myself. |
| Will I ever feel confident about my writing? | Yes, because every step that I take brings me closer to my goal. Uh, huh, because the more I practice, the better I get, and the better I get, the more confidence I feel. You bet I will. I am doing what I love, and when it comes down to it, that’s all that matters anyway. |
| Will I ever be successful? | Absolutely! I am already a raging success because I put myself out into the universe. It’s a win/win situation all the way around. Without a doubt. I am a pioneer, setting out into unknown territories with uncertainties around every bend. What a fantastic opportunity for adventure! I most certainly will be successful, because I refuse to be anything less. (Resolve = reward.) |
SCORING: Give yourself 100 points for taking the quiz.
100 pts. = You are a writer of the highest caliber. You persevere, even when in doubt. You experience discouragement, yet continue to write (with occasional lapses into whining and therapeutic doses of chocolate and ice cream). You dare to dream, even though you are sometimes convinced that what you are writing is a living nightmare.I’ve got a few questions…
